SweetSpot Cycle Partner Team
- Pippa York & Ed Clancy
Introducing...
Our World-Class Cycling Team
We’ve partnered with two of Britains very best cyclists to bring you an unrivaled experience. SweetSpot offers you the opportunity to elevate your cycling adventure with the company of one of our renowned cycling professionals.
Pippa York
Pippa is a Scottish journalist and former professional road racing cyclist. We’re incredibly proud to welcome Pippa to our team as a Cycling Partner.
Pippa, who competed when known as Robert Millar, is one of Britain’s most successful cyclists. Pippa won the mountain classification in the 1984 Tour de France and finished fourth overall. Pippa also rode the Tour de France eleven times, completing the race eight times.
Further victories came at the 1985 Volta a Catalunya, the 1989 Tour of Britain (our favourite – of course!) and the 1990 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré.
Pippa has also overcome challenges away from her numerous grueling cycling experiences & accolades. Having faced hostile rumours and speculation, Pippa has not always felt comfortable remaining in the public eye, rightly guarding her privacy.
However, as of 2017, Pippa has reclaimed her place in the media, appearing on television and taking up a new commentary role. We could not be prouder of her bravery as a role model to so many.
Ed Clancy, OBE
Edward Franklin Clancy OBE is a British professional track and road bicycle racer from England.
Ed’s illustrious career speaks for itself. On the track Ed’s specialist discipline is the team pursuit, in which he won three consecutive Olympic titles (in 2008, 2012 and 2016). Ed has featured in a number of world record team pursuits and is a proven athlete at the highest level.
In the London 2012 Olympics, Ed also participated in the Omnium, claiming a bronze medal. In total, Ed is a five-time world champion (in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2018) and four-time European champion (in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014) in the team pursuit; he has also won World (2010) and European (2011) titles in the omnium. On the road, he won the first stage of the 2005 Tour of Berlin.
Ed announced his retirement in August 2021 during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games & joins SweetSpot as a Cycling Ambassador Partner. Welcome to the team Ed, it’s brilliant to have you onboard.
